Our Story

Founded in 1991, A Cappella Catering has continually developed, evolved and grown. Our relentless pursuit of excellence over the past 24 years has made us Edmonton’s most advanced and successful off-site catering operation.

Our team is composed of 75+ highly trained and dedicated partners. In fact, Executive Chef Mich de Laive and Chief Operating Officer Kim Szalynski, joined Founder Todd Rutter as co-owners in 2010.

We occupy a 10,000 square foot state of the art facility in central Edmonton, and operate a fleet of 14 vans to transport our goods and services throughout the Edmonton area and province-wide if required.

We live sustainability: Bullfrog powered, 100% biodegradable service items, locally sourced produce, organic and locally grown foods whenever possible, best-in-industry employee remuneration and benefits and generous supporters of local charities.

Our dedication to quality has allowed us to diversify: Since 2012, we have had the distinct pleasure and honour of being the food service provider for the Matrix Hotel. Additionally we established the cafeteria style Cantata Café at the John E. Brownlee Building in 2014, and have since provided delicious offerings to those tenants.

Our tasty, diverse and fresh menus provided by our friendly, industrious staff annually feed over 200,000 guests attending over 10,000 events. From office meeting lunches to weddings, to major organizations hosting gala events our managers, chefs, event planners, shippers, bartenders, bbq chefs, and servers will ensure excellence at your event.
